Sgorr Tuath by James G Photography

Good evening, Last week I headed up to the Assynt and Coigach area of Scotland to recce some locations for a potential future workshop in the area. Also, it is always great to get to some mountain tops and grab some shots of course! We were well rewarded on our first few days with some amazing conditions so we pushed ourselves and made the most of them. After a 10-hour drive on the first day, we quickly got kitted up and headed up Sgorr Tuath which in the end took us a little longer than expected. We just made it up for sunset and took some shots and set up camp for the night. The following morning we did a sunrise there too, which this shot is from. This rock pinnacle is an icon for the very few who have lugged a camera up there and something that would have been very hard to resist. After a patient wait for the sun to get high enough, the light eventually hit the pinnacle and made all the difference with a great view over to Stac Polliadh and Suilven in the distance. I stood there, looking at Suilven thinking "I'm never going to make it up there today" but as you may have saw, I did make it up on the same day and was very well rewarded the next morning. Keep an eye out for that shot in the coming days.
